Inferno Guts Hut in Uttar Pradesh Village, Family Loses All as Authorities Probe Cause
A severe fire in Midhauli Khurd, Mainpuri, destroyed a family’s hut, belongings, and savings after an LPG cylinder blast intensified the blaze. Police and forensic teams are investigating the cause, while questions over emergency response linger. No injuries were reported, but the family lost everything.
Rajesh, who lived in the hut with his wife and two children, was inside when the blaze erupted under still-unclear circumstances. As flames spread rapidly, a domestic LPG cylinder exploded with a powerful blast, intensifying the fire but miraculously causing no casualties. By the time the inferno subsided, the family’s essential household goods and hard-earned cash had been completely destroyed.
Despite distress calls from locals, the fire brigade failed to reach the spot. A Dial-112 police unit, however, responded promptly and cordoned off the area before launching an initial inquiry. Kurawali police have since opened a formal investigation into the incident. Senior officials, including the Superintendent of Police, also visited the scene, accompanied by a forensic team tasked with determining the source of the blaze and documenting material evidence.
Authorities noted that investigative efforts remain ongoing, with officers simultaneously pursuing leads connected to other unresolved cases in the region—including a previous killing in Delhi in which a woman’s body was discovered stuffed inside a suitcase and dumped in Pilkhuwa. Police also indicated that several suspects linked to an active theft gang are still absconding, and intensified search operations are underway.
The fire in Midhauli Khurd stands as a grim reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by families living in precarious housing, and it underscores persistent challenges in emergency response coordination. As investigators work to pinpoint the cause, the affected family is left to rebuild their lives from the ground up, highlighting the broader human impact of such disasters.
